In the bustling heart of Kent Street, Sydney, Westpac encountered an unexpected challenge - persistent and unpleasant odours emanating from their exhaust system. Determined to find a solution, the TriAir Project team engaged IAQ Services to harness the power of Aeroseal Duct technology. The mission was clear: eliminate the odours that had affected Kent Street Westpac.

The initial issue stemmed from the need to upgrade the existing grease trap exhaust system. Due to the extended length of the exhaust system, a booster fan had been installed near the onset of the grease room. While this addition was intended to enhance airflow, it inadvertently led to a positive pressure situation within the ductwork. This positive pressure propelled the unwanted grease trap odours into the adjacent car park, particularly affecting the executive cars, resulting in an unpleasant and unacceptable experience.

Recognising the severity of the issue, IAQ Services was brought in to leverage Aeroseal Duct technology. This innovative solution offered a glimmer of hope. The project commenced with the IAQ Services team targeting the ductwork responsible for the malodorous emissions. The objective was to seal the ductwork comprehensively and effectively to prevent any further escape of odours.

Remarkably, IAQ Services, armed with Aeroseal technology, achieved remarkable results. In just two hours, the leakage was reduced from 54.8L/s to 2.5L/s reduction of 95% This monumental reduction in leakage effectively halted the intrusion of odours into the car park, putting an end to the dreadful and disruptive smell that had affected Westpac's Kent Street location.

Brad Lind from Tri-Air Projects, a key stakeholder in the project, aptly summarised the transformation: "IAQ Services used Aeroseal and turned a challenging and odorous situation into a complete success. The reduction in leakage was astounding, and the elimination of the car park odour was nothing short of remarkable."

The Westpac Kent Street Project is a testament to the power of innovation, dedication, and technology working in harmony. IAQ Services armed with Aeroseal demonstrated that even the most stubborn challenges can be overcome, ensuring that employees, clients, and visitors can now enjoy a clean, pleasant, and odour-free environment.
